Our application form

What's the application form?

In short: this is the online form that applicants complete. This collects all the information we need to make a recommendation.

Form accessibility

We've made the form as accessible as possible for disabilities, however we've probably not thought of everything. If you have trouble with our form β€” for whatever reason β€” please do get in touch on hello@movem.co.uk.

Custom branding

Your application form will be custom branded with your company logo, name and basic information. This will be configurable from your dashboard.

Browser and device compatibility

We want Movem to work on every browser, and every device β€” but annoyingly that's just not possible these days. A lot of what we do, specifically around Open Banking, requires newer browsers.

The good news is, we're committed to making Movem work beautifully on the latest, stable releases of all major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera). On Windows, we support Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Edge. πŸ‘©β€πŸ’»

Form hosting and domain

Due to a mixture of security, privacy and ensuring a simple process for all of our clients β€” and our client's users β€” the form has to be hosted by us. We do not offer the ability for third parties to host a version of our form.

When an application form is generated, either through the dashboard or the API, it will exist on Movem at a specific location, specifically for that applicant. For example:

www.movem.co.uk/form/1318n2j123b1j131j2jn3

That's not real by the way, not even close. But you get the idea.

You cannot access our form through a static URL.

Revisiting the form once it's completed

You cannot re-access a form once it's been completed. The link will take you straight to the completion page.

Uploading documents

When we cannot complete an instant reference, we will ask the applicant to upload supporting evidence, as well as employer/landlord contact information.

The documents we require depend on the applicant's circumstance, and is dynamically requested during the user journey.

Here's an example of some of the documents we can accept:

Employed: (upload one of these)

  • 3 months of payslips
  • 3 months of bank statements

Self-employed: (upload one of these)

  • Reference from accountant
  • Most recent fully submitted SA100 (with visible watermark)
  • Most recent fully submitted SA302 tax calculation

Retired: (upload one of these)

  • Last 3 months’ bank statements

Independent means: (upload one of these)

  • Most recent ISA or bond statement
  • Passbook or bankbook

Format of uploaded documents

Here are a few examples of formats we can't accept:

  • Microsoft Word or Excel documents.
  • Accounting software files, such as Sage or Xero.
  • Handwritten notes posted to our office.

What do you do with my data?

Nothing scary, you can view our privacy policy here.

Do Movem look at social media accounts?

No, we don't. Let's be honest; that's a bit too intrusive. We're not sure what holiday photos from 2012 can add to your referencing decision.

Form security

The form is the engine of our service, and as an FCA regulated company, we do everything we possibly can to protect your data; including regular external penetration testing, best code practices, virus-scanning, data validation and encryption.

Is there a paper form?

Unfortunately not, you have to complete our online application form. How else would the banking step work? That'd be pretty wild. πŸ™ˆ
